Hi, I’m Sozaya.

I’ve spent over 7 years working in beauty as a marketing and brand executive. I know how products are built, how campaigns are designed, and what the industry looks like from the inside.

I started The Sozaya Edit because I wanted a space that didn’t exist yet. Somewhere written from my experience as a Black woman, for women of colour who are done being an afterthought in beauty media. A place to come when you’re figuring things out, building something, trying to feel confident in an uncertain world, and actually find something useful. Not just pretty. Useful.

This is beauty and business, written from the inside out, product recommendations I’ve actually tested, honest conversations about building a brand, skincare that works on our skin, and a community of women who are doing the same thing you are: finding their way, on their own terms.

Here, we believe you can love lip gloss and still build brands. You can enjoy aesthetics and still be intentional about your growth. You can glow and still grind, softly.
